Most Reached For Eye Palette・Makeup Bag Monday 9/30/2024
My ride or die eye makeup look thanks to my most reached for eyeshadow palette and rotating in a forgotten foundation while trying luxury blushes.
There’s something refreshing knowing how I’ll do my eye makeup when I get ready. Over the last few months I’ve honed in on my two main eye makeup looks. There’s either a wash of bronzer or my Armani eye tint in 22 or I’ll intensify the eye look using this one palette that gives me my favorite glam look. By glam I mean full makeup, but still rather natural.
Every time I wear my makeup this way I always get complemented on it. It works, I feel good, and it’s one less thing to think about. I’m all about avoiding decision fatigue these days.
This Week:
Westman Atelier Vital Skin Full Coverage Foundation Stick in Atelier III
Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in 62 and 50.5
What is Makeup Bag Monday
Makeup Bag Monday was a series I started on my beauty channel 7 years ago. The original concept was for me to rotate my makeup collection and try new products each week. After a full week of thorough testing, I’d share with my audience an updated review on each product and what I would be testing for the upcoming week.
This series was created to help me rotate my makeup collection when I had an abundance of products, but also force me to really test out new products as them came in. After two years of posting consistently, I needed a break from Makeup Bag Monday. It was overwhelming to be changing products so frequently and I missed using up what I loved.
This new version of Makeup Bag Monday focuses on re-discovery, re-purpose, and low consumption. Gone are the days of weekly massive hauls and PR gifting. We use what we love with a little sprinkle of new here and there.
Affordable Idea, Not Quite Right
Pixi +Hydra Lip Tint in Nectar is a steal at $5.60, however I found the hydration lacking. Love the shade in nectar and had really high hopes for this tinted lip balm, but between the faint minty scent/ taste, the rather dry balm didn’t live up to my hopes or needs for a tinted balm.
It almost feels like there’s a little too much wax in the formula that prevents my lips from fully feeling hydrated or moisturized. It’s a shame since I really love the shade, shape, packaging, and idea of it.
Forgotten Base, That is a Bit Forgettable
Westman Atelier Vital Skin Full Coverage Foundation Stick in Atelier III $68 is surprisingly reasonably priced compared to some of their other products. We know I LOVE the Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Cream Highlight from this post.
Which is probably why I wanted to try one of their base products. I always love the idea of a stick foundation. This is actually the second version of this product I’ve purchased. The first one the SA matched me WAY TOO ORANGE AND DARK! I didn’t say anything and regret the purchase especially since I missed the return window. Also why I RARELY trust anyone to color match me.
This stick foundation is very wearable. With a good color match, I’m able to spot conceal, build up a base, or use it my favorite way just where I need it. It does wear very well and lasts all day for my kind of lived in makeup look.
Now why did I forget about it? Probably because it’s a little forgettable and not for any fault of its own. It does what it claims. I enjoy it, but do I feel wow? No.
There are so many amazing bases launching and already on the market, I think I just forget this is here. Again NOTHING wrong with it.
I will continue to rotate it it, maybe even use it for travel since it’s easy to travel with.
There are a few new bases I’ve been testing and one I reach for when I am looking to look my best which I’ll share soon!
Make Me Blush Like Sabrina Carpenter
It’s been said that Sabrina Carpenter achieves her healthy flush with Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in 62 and 53.
I geeked out a bit when Armani sent these to me. My wedding foundation was Luminous Silk in 4. Not even in my beauty guru hay day did Armani know I was alive, so I’m pretty shock to be noticed now.
