This week, I finally bit the bullet and added a few new makeup products to my collection. After much thought, swatching, and visits to many stores I bought three new products. Let’s take a look on why I choose these products and if I have any regrets.

This week’s new additions

  • Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo

  • Chanel LE ROUGE DUO ULTRA TENUE Ultra Wear Lip Colour

  • Chanel Multi-Use Glow Stick

This week’s re-visits & PR

  • NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

  • Dibs Duet Baked Bronzer

What is Makeup Bag Monday

Makeup Bag Monday was a series I started on my beauty channel 7 years ago. The original concept was for me to rotate my makeup collection and try new products each week. After a full week of thorough testing, I’d share with my audience an updated review on each product and what I would be testing for the upcoming week.

This series was created to help me rotate my makeup collection when I had an abundance of products, but also force me to really test out new products as them came in. After two years of posting consistently, I needed a break from Makeup Bag Monday. It was overwhelming to be changing products so frequently and I missed using up what I loved.

This new version of Makeup Bag Monday focuses on re-discovery, re-purpose, and low consumption. Gone are the days of weekly massive hauls and PR gifting. We use what we love with a little sprinkle of new here and there.

The Hunt for The Perfect Everyday blush

Growing up I rarely wore blush. My mom would always tell me to wear blush, but I always reserved blush for stage makeup and auditions.

It wasn’t until my 20’s when I discovered MAC warm soul, the perfect natural mauve rose blush (before they reformulated).

This was my ride or die blush for everything! Everyday, stage makeup, and evening glam. I’m not sure I’ve found a blush that I’ve been that attached to since and I missed that level of commitment.

After swatching every blush I own, I decided I needed to set out to find my ride or die blush again. I wanted something very natural. It needs to brighten my complexion, but look understated. I always wanted a powder formula since I currently only own one proper powder blush. Ginger from Laura Mercier which is a very close ride or die.

After hearing rave reviews of Patrick Ta blushes, I went to go do some swatching. I also swatched a ton of liquids, creams, and more powders from all the brands at Sephora, but settled on

Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo in Not Too Much $38.

I liked the cream and powder duo for versatility and longevity. You can wear them alone, combined, and intensified.

The shade is brightening for my complexion, but also looks very natural, exactly what I’ve been wanting.

My favorite way of wearing the blush is applying cream, then powder, but I also have been enjoy Patrick’s technique of powered then cream.

Because of the duo formulas, the product lasts much longer on my face than just cream or just powder.

I also like the design of the packaging, keeping the cream powder free with its own shield.

After a week of use, I think we might have my new ride or die.

A Splurge

Defiently not necessary, but oh so pretty, Chanel Multi-Use Glow Stick in moonlight kiss $48. I have the transparent one and LOVE it. Was curious over the new shade moonlight kiss which has a slight glitter to it.
